Non-Resident Player Registration
There is a non-resident fee charge of $300 for all including approved Player Movement process at Tiered & Intro to Hockey Divisions.

Registration Deadlines & Fees
•    Non-resident players are only required to pay the non-refundable tryout fee at time of registration.
•    Non-resident fee of $300 and Registration deposit will be due upon making the team; Fees and Payment Schedule
•    Registration is May 1-31
        - June 1st, a $200 late fee will apply to all registrations

Exception Request to play outside your Primary MHA for Tiered (A-D) and Intro to Hockey levels.
•   Eligible Scenarios to request a Player Movement
•   Primary MHA is full at your age division.
•   No team in your age division within your Primary MHA.
•   Movement by Special Exception
 
         - Special Exception Guidelines:
                - Parent/guardian workplace location, player's school location
               -  Travel Distance/access to ice times
               -  Alternate tier opportunity aligning with skill level
               -  Need for the player in the accepting MHA

Tryout / Evaluations
•    AAA/ AA (Mixed/ Female) Spring ID camps will be run in April/May
       -     Players may only attend one Spring ID Camp for a given Division and Level.
                 -    Exception:  Female U18 AAA players can attend as many Spring ID Camps as they are accepted to. 
                 -    Second Tryouts will attended in the Fall.
•    Fall tryouts typically begin around the Labour Day long weekend.
•    Tryout groupings and times will be posted on the RDMH website 1 week prior to their skate.
        -  Players are responsible for checking the website regularly for:
                - Tryout updates
               - Last-minute changes
               - Player releases
               - Final rosters

•   Tiered A-C (Mixed/ Female) are in September.
•   Tier D (formerly known as City League) and Introl to Hockey levels usually start late Sept / Early Oct.
   

Notes:
First Year U18 Players can only attend 1 AAA tryout.

Red Deer Minor Hockey Draw Zone includes:

U18 AAA - Bashaw, Big Valley, Blackfalds, Bowden, Caroline, Clive, Delburne, Endmoor, Innisfail, Lacombe, Rocky Mountain House, Spruceview, Stettler, Sundre, Sylvan Lake.

U17 AAA / U15 AAA - Bashaw, Big Valley, Blackfalds, Bowden, Caroline, Clive, Delburne, Endmoor, Innisfail, Lacombe, Rocky Mountain House, Spruceview, Stettler, Sylvan Lake.

U13 AAA - Alix, Bashaw, Big Valley, Clive, Delburne, Endmoor & Stettler.

U16 AA - Big Valley, Clive, Delburne, Endmoor, Stettler.

Female U18 AAA - Open Boundaries.

Female U18 AA / U15 AA - Bashaw, Big Valley, Blackfalds, Blindman Valley, Caroline, Clive, Delburne, Endmoor, Innisfail, Lacombe, Ponoka, Rocky, Spruce View, Stettler, Sylvan Lake, Thunderstars.

Female U13 AA - Big Valley, Blackfalds, Blindman Valley, Caroline, Clive, Delburne, Endmoor, Innisfail, Lacombe, Ponoka, Red Deer, Rocky Mountain House, Spruce View, Sylvan Lake.

Elite Player Movement 
•    Players must first try out for the team in the draw zone where they reside, unless previous approval has been granted through the Elite Player Movement process.

        - Stage 1:  Apply March 1 to April 1 to access your first tryout with a different Elite Draw Zone.
                    - A letter from your accepting MHA is required to apply for this.
                    - This is temporary permission to attend Spring ID Camps.
                    - Formal Elite Player Movement decisions will be made in June.   
                                   - If application is denied permission will be revoked.
                    - Players released from Spring ID Camps can access a 2nd using an Elite Player Waiver 

        - Stage 2:  Apply May 1 to July 1 to access their first tryout with a different Elite Draw Zone.
                    - A letter from your accepting MHA is required to apply for this. 
                    - Applications submitted May 1 to June 1, will have formal decision rendered in June.
                    - Applications submitted June 1 to July 1, will have formal decision rendered in July.


Elite Player Waivers & Second Tryouts
•    Elite Player Waiver will be supplied to anyone wishing a 2nd tryout for the same level after being released from tryouts.
•    Once received, the player has seven (7) days to choose one of the following options:
        - Arrange a tryout with a second AAA team
        - Try out with their Resident Elite Recruitment Area AA program (where applicable)
        - Return to their Resident MHA for other minor hockey opportunities
•    15-year-old players are only permitted to try out for one (1) U18 AAA team. If released, they also have seven (7) days to pursue options outlined in #2 and #3 above.
•    Players wishing to request a second tryout with RDMH must complete the 2nd Tryout Request Form.  We will respond as soon as possible.
        - If approved then we will require the Elite Player Waiver.
