Return to Hockey - Registration Update

Red Deer Minor Hockey is in the process of implementing a season plan to align with the Current Hockey Alberta Stage 2 Return to Play model while meeting the current health and safety requirements of the Government of Alberta. We intend to offer the best version of Hockey that can be delivered within the restrictions in place. We thank everyone for their co-operation and support as we work through the challenges. Change may be required on short notice due to ever changing information and conditions. New information will be added to the website as it becomes available.

Players who have registered for Elite Hockey (AAA/AA/A) may be invited to join a pre-team selection Cohort or a pre-team selection Training Group after attending 2 physical distance Skill Evaluation Sessions. Players registered for City League play will also be invited into a Team Training scenario once more implementation information is available.

Players competing for AAA will attend Level 1 Skill Evaluation Sessions (U18, U16, U15).
Players competing for AA/A will attend Level 2 Skill Evaluation Sessions (U18, U16, U15, U13, U11).

In an effort to limit contact and work within current restrictions, a minimum level of play will be used to determine eligibility for AAA Evaluation Skill Sessions.

Cohorts establishment will allow participants to break Physical distancing requirements while on the field of play.
All Athletes are limited to a maximum of one Cohort regardless of the number of sports they are involved. A Cohort is a closed, small group of no more than 50 individuals who participate in the same sport or activity. A 14-day break is required prior to joining a new Cohort.
