Background Check Info

If you are interested in volunteering as a Coach, Manager or Treasurer a background check is required at the office before November 1st.

1. RDMH Background Check Requirement:

   • A valid Vulnerable Sector Check is required for the position of Coach or Assistant Coach.
   • A valid Criminal Record Check is required for Managers and Treasurers.
   • The background check must be less than 3 years old and should not expire during the season.

2. Deadline:

   • The deadline to have the Background check or your application receipt submitted to RDMH is November 1st.
     • If you haven't received your check yet, you will need to send the receipt that it was submitted to jackie@reddeerminorhockey.com to continue helping. 

3. Application Process:

   • Click here to request a volunteer letter.
   • Please apply for your background check by clicking here.
   • You will be required to attach your volunteer letter provided by Jackie, to have your fee reduced. 
     • These letters are only good for a month after the issue date.
       • RDMH will only issue one letter.

4. Pick up and uploading of your background check:

   • When your check is ready, you will need to pick it up at the RCMP office, be sure to have your ID that you put on the application with you.  
   • Coaches and Managers that have RIS Activity Leader (HCR-profile) will need to upload your check under document in your coach/manager profile.
   • Treasurers and managers that do not have RIS Activity Leader (HCR-profile), will need to drop off their check to the RDMH office.
     • 4725 43 St - our office door is outside the Servus Arena doors to the right.  

5. Disclosure in Case of Non-Negative Results:

   • If the background check returns with any non-negative findings, the individual will need to include a letter of disclosure, which you request at the RCMP office
