U11 Predator Drilling Chiefs

Jan. 13, 2025

The Predator Drilling Chiefs participated in a tournament in Whitecourt this past weekend, finishing in third place. However, the most meaningful achievement was being awarded the inaugural Sportsmanship Award, which was created in memory of U11 Whitecourt head coach Dave Beauchesne, who tragically passed away a month ago. In recognition of Dave’s impact on the community, the tournament was renamed in his honor.

The Sportsmanship Award was voted on after each game by coaches, referees, and penalty box attendants, and the Chiefs were deeply honored to receive it. The award was presented by Dave’s wife before the bronze medal game, making the moment even more significant. The Chiefs take great pride in having been recognized not only for their performance but for their conduct and respect throughout the tournament.
