Out-of-boundary exception request (First-Time Player to Minor Hockey).


If you are a first-time player to Minor Hockey - this includes:

  • Players who are joining hockey for the very first time, and

  • Players who have only played Pond Hockey and are now moving to Minor Hockey;

and live outside the Red Deer Minor Hockey boundaries, you must:

  • Submit an Out-of-Boundaries Exception Request Form.

  • Approval is required before you can register.

  • Requests will begin being reviewed after August 10.

  • We will notify you once a decision has been made.

  • No late fee will be charged if your form is received before May 31st.

  • The $300 non-residency fee applies to all players that do not live within our boundaries but play here.

Special Exception Guidelines

Exceptions are generally considered if:

  • Parents work in Red Deer

  • The player’s school is in Red Deer

  • Travel distance or access to ice times is a challenge
