Guidelines for Ice

All RDMH teams will receive their team allocation at season start up. Ice times will loaded into Ramp and visible on the RDMH website. Managers are responsible to maintain the Ramp schedule once the team is handed over.

OPEN ICE PROCEDURE:

Open ice will be posted on the website under the open ice tab.
Teams are eligible to pick up available time. All requests should be sent to the ice scheduler who will allocate (based on availability) and provide confirmation by email. Always verify the accuracy on the attachment and update in Ramp. Teams using TeamSnap are asked to maintain both platforms as it is attached to the RDMH website and others rely on the information on the website.

In an effort to ensure all teams have fair access to extra ice, Open ice released on Day one is restricted.
Teams are eligible to pick up one ice time 8:00am or earlier, and one ice time any time of day.
Teams should request time in order of preference. Ice slots will be filled in the order they are requested and confirmed by email.
Please be sure on your requests as ice time requested from the Open ice Page cannot be returned.
Any time available after the first day of release is unrestricted for pick up (within reason).
Teams will be allocated a maximum of 2 practices per week (Monday to Friday). If you already have 2, please move on to the next week when requesting.

POLICY ON UNUSED ICE:

Scheduled ice time not used and not canceled fourteen (14) days prior will be charged to the team at the current Adult Rate.

  • The City of Red Deer has put a no-show ice policy into effect, thus teams that do not show up for ice time will be charged the Adult Rate for the ice left empty.
  • Note: 6:45 am ice times CANNOT be turned back or left as a no show.
  • Any ice time (6:45 am included) left open as a no show will result in an evening prime time practice being taken away from the offending team.
