Players must reside in the Red Deer service area to participate in Red Deer Minor Hockey.
Players must register in their designated age group.
Players should register at the highest level they are interested in playing.
Players may be moved to other levels as the tryout process progresses. Fees will be adjusted, and payments applied accordingly.
One parent/guardian must hold a valid Respect in Sport - Parent Certificate before registering with Red Deer Minor Hockey (as required by Hockey Alberta).
Parents must create an account on Hockey Canada’s Spordle platform and link their player(s) profile(s).

All tryout and evaluation dates and times will be posted on the RDMH website under the respective division.

The May registration fee (including applicable tryout fees) and any late fees must be paid at the time of registration.

All fees must be paid in full by October 31st, with the exception of AAA fees, whose deadline is December 15th.
Automatic withdrawals will be processed on October 28th to allow time for issues to be resolved before the October 31st deadline.
Players registered for AAA but moved down will have their adjusted payment processed on October 15th.Important: Making a manual payment does not cancel any scheduled automatic withdrawals.

Registration deadline: May 31st
You may still register after this date if space remains, but a $200 late fee per registration will apply.
Non-resident players are permitted in the following divisions:
Female Stream: U13 AA, U15 AA, U18 AA, U18 AAA
Mixed Stream: U13 AAA, U15 AAA, U16 AA, U17 AAA, U18 AAA
? Player boundaries are determined by Hockey Alberta and RDMH.
Underage Players at AAA Level:
U15-aged players are not eligible to try out for U16 AAA—only U18 AAA.
A formal application must be submitted before September 1st for consideration.
Exception Player Status:
Players wishing to “play up” one age division (below U15) may apply for Exception Player Status.
Application must be submitted by August 15th for review by the General Manager.
