The Respect in Sport Parent (RISP) Program

Parents are required to complete the RISP program. Certification is valid for up to four seasons, with an expiry date of June 1.

The RISP program is an online course designed to protect youth and support Hockey Alberta’s goal of providing a safe and enjoyable environment. It is Canada’s leading program for preventing bullying, abuse, harassment, and neglect for parents, coaches, and community leaders.

You must have a valid RISP certificate to register with Red Deer Minor Hockey.

I Want to Add Another Child to My Parent Program Certificate

To add a child to your Parent Program certificate, follow these steps:

  1. Log in using your existing username and password.

  2. You can add as many children as needed to your certificate.

  3. Go to the program where you originally completed your parent certification and log in, Click here to assess the program.

  4. Click the "Profile" link in the upper-left corner of your dashboard.

  5. Select "Child Management".

  6. From this menu, you can either edit an existing child’s details or create a new entry for another child. Enter the child’s information as prompted and click Save.
