The U11 Valley Mountain Homes Gators earned the gold medal at the Didsbury Spirit of the Sticks tournament after a weekend defined by perseverance, resilience, and heart.

The Gators came out strong with a solid opening-game victory that set the tone for the weekend. Although they faced a setback in their Saturday morning matchup against the Kneehill Chiefs, the group refused to let the loss define them. Instead, they regrouped, refocused, and delivered an impressive rebound performance with a decisive win that afternoon—showcasing their determination and the depth of their lineup.

Sunday’s championship game brought a highly anticipated rematch against the Kneehill Chiefs. The Gators rose to the challenge, displaying outstanding teamwork, disciplined play, and a relentless compete level. Their hard work paid off with a 5-3 victory, securing the gold medal and capping off a remarkable tournament run.
